Paint Colors

Posted by Al on Jul 21st, 2008

One of the main questions people ask Jenn and I when they visit our place is “what paint color is that?”. We spent a few months gradually painting room after room and just have three bedrooms left to paint. Making a choice on what color to paint each room was a fun process and Jenn and I went back and forth on a few paint colors. For all our color choices, we used paint from Behr. To answer your question, or to hopefully inspire your color choice, here are the paint colors we used straight from the Behr website.

Enjoy!

Antelope Canyon

So Spencer and Trisha have introduced Jenn and I to the world of photography. Great, another expensive hobby. Well, in the meantime Spencer, we’ll just borrow your guys’ lenses. Deal?

Take a look at our first photo excursion shots that we took in Antelope Canyon, Arizona back in late May. Yay, we have a Flickr account! Trying to get the Flickr plugin to work in the sidebar with little success. I’ll continue to tinker until I get it working…

Update!

Posted by Al on May 20th, 2008

Oh, what?! It’s been 6 months since the last update! It’s been busy for Jenn and I. We moved out of our Rancho Cucamonga apartment at the end of December. That was fun. Yeah, not really. We moved in with my cousin for a couple months because our home was still under construction. That’s right, we bought a house. We’re living in Menifee now, just moved-in in March. A little town north of Temecula and Murrieta off the 15 and 215 freeways. The horses and chicken say hello. Yeah, it’s a bit rural, but it’s really nice. You can hear the coyotes and lots of frogs at night. At least we have a mall and typical commercial areas within 15 minutes.

Anyhow, with the move, updating our site had taken a back seat. Sorry that meant no updates for a while. In any case, we should be able to get back to keeping you (yeah, you) updated!

Improv Everywhere

Jenn and I hope to visit New York some time. Maybe we’ll plan our trip around the next group prank organized by Improv Everywhere. They have performed some pretty great pranks in the past six years. Check out the link and the following videos to get an idea of what this is.

Batch #2 - Irish Red

Posted by Al on Sep 28th, 2007

For those who don’t know, I am experimenting in the art of fermentation. Beer, that is. The first batch I made was in July and it was a Pale Ale. The lucky few who sampled it gave the Pale Ale a thumbs up. This has encouraged me to keep up what is a new hobby for me.

Our next batch is an Irish Red. “Our” being myself and Ash, my friend from work. We get our supplies from More Beer!, and we go in person to the Riverside location. We just finished putting our “wort” in the carboy, and it looks like our beer will be 4% alcohol when it is finished. It will take about one more month for the beer to be ready, so check out pictures from our second batch preparation.

The Big Island

Posted by Al on Aug 30th, 2007

We just went to Hawaii for a week in August and had a blast. Jenn and I started the trip on a Thursday and we were joined by Mom and Joanne. The weather was great and rained a little here and there. The Big Island of Hawaii had a good balance of natural landscape and developed areas. We stayed on the Kona side and visited Hilo for one day during the trip. We also went to a luau and did a quick hike through a lava tube. Enjoy the photo gallery from Hawaii below.

Maki & Sushi

Posted by Al on Jul 1st, 2007

If you are ever in the Arcadia area, we recommend stopping by this little hole in the wall Japanese restaurant. The food is so good, we forgot to take pictures of it. Oh man, they really cut the sushi slices big here…if you get the right chef that is.

And apparently, I wear the same shirt every time I eat sushi…

Mmm, sakiSaki it to me, baby

Jeremy and Shaula’s Wedding

You lucky couple you. Other than your’s truly, you’re the first couple to enter the Wedding category on aljenn.com. Ain’t you special.

Jenn and I had a blast at your wedding and it was the first time we’ve been inside the Japanese Friendship Garden. Very beautiful. Thanks for letting us share your special day.

Charlotte, NC

We took a quick trip to North Carolina last week. I’ve never been east of El Paso, so it was a new adventure for me. Jenn had her OBGYN conference to attend and I was tagging along on the trip just to get out of the house.

Charlotte is a beautiful town as you will see from the pictures here.
